More than 25 years ago, Giel Hermans came into contact with sweetcorn during a lesson of horticulture and started with growing only half a hectare of sweetcorn. Nowadays, the growing surface in the Netherlands contains more then 100 hectares a year and the international surface more than 500 hectares. Growing, choice of variety and seeding has always been a passion of Giel and is busy to improve the quality of his product on a daily basis. Over the years, Giel has gathered collegeaus around him who are just as passionate about sweetcorn as he is himself. From growing, cleaning and packing, it’s all done by Hermans Suikermais to ensure sweetcorn of best quality at any time.
